Vladimir Propp theory-
This is when Prop argued that there are eight different types of characters within a film. Those eight characters are;
The Hero- The hero is considered the main character in the film, who is in some search for a journey
Villian- This character usually opposes the hero
Donor - This character prepares the hero by giving them some sort of magical object.
Dispatcher- This is the character that makes the evil of the villain known and sends off the hero
False Hero- Takes credits for the hero's actions and wants to marry the princess
The Helper- This character is usually inferior to the hero, but helps and advises them to succeed.
Princess- The hero deserves this 'prize' throughout the film and wants to marry her, But is unable to do so because of unfair evil.
Her Father - This character gives the task to the hero in order to win his daughter.
Propp's theory does not really apply to my short film idea, as as a group we decided that we only wanted one character, in order to portray the message clearly, which will prevent the audience from getting disorientated and confused by the plot.
